The world of skincare can be extremely overwhelming. There are thousands of products to choose from and it can be difficult to determine which products you should use. I have personally fallen victim to the ever so popular 10-Step Korean Skincare Routine, but I realized my skin doesn't really need ten layers of product.
I've developed a simple skincare routine for myself based around fading my acne scars and ensuring my skin looks healthy and glowy.
I'm not going to go too in depth on how I remove my makeup (I'll save that for another post). To cleanse my skin in the morning, I use the Micellar Cleansing Water from the Dirty Works, which you can find at Marshall's or Winners. I add a few drops of this to a cotton pad and remove any residue left on my skin from the night before.
After cleansing, it's time to add a toner. If my skin is congested or lacklustre, I'll use the Ordinary Glycolic Acid toner. On the other hand, if my skin is feeling dry I like to apply the Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner. At night, I'll usually do a variation of the Seven Skin Method with the Klairs toner, which is where you apply multiple layers of toner to your face. I typically apply three layers at most.
I've been obsessed with the Klairs Vitamin C serum. The original packaging is adorable and holographic, but mine has faded after a while. Vitamin C is amazing for treating an uneven skin tone, anti-aging and adding some glow to your complexion.
I usually finish off my skincare routine with a pea-sized drop of the Mizon Snail Eye Cream and a spritz of the Valjean Labs Glow Facial Mist. Sometimes I'll spray the Glow mist over my makeup for a more dewy look.

Every night, I love to use my jade roller on my skin. The jade stone is naturally cool, which is so refreshing on your skin. Jade rollers provide a variety of benefits including tightening pores, evening out skin tone and increasing skins elasticity. This is the most relaxing step of my skincare routine, even my boyfriend is obsessed with the jade roller!
You may have noticed I don't use a moisturizer in my routine. A friend of mine suggested I stop using moisturizer because it can destroy your skins natural barrier, so I'm currently testing that out.

Twice a week, I like to exfoliate my skin. I typically use the Body Shop Vitamin C Peel, which chemically exfoliates the skin. My skin is always super soft and bright after using this.
Since I deal with acne scars, I love to use The Body Shop Chinese Ginseng & Rice mask. In Korean skincare, rice is used to brighten and even out an uneven skin tone. It has a super creamy texture and tiny granules which exfoliate your skin, without drying it out. There is nothing I love more than pampering myself with a good mask!
My skincare routine is always changing, but these products have all been working really well for me lately.
I hope this helped you in your quest for the perfect skincare routine!
xoxo, Taylor.
