Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Set Review

I struggle with my skin, so when I find a new product that promises to ease some of my skin issues I almost always buy it. That's exactly what happened with the Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Set, so I'm going to try to help others by giving you the down-lo on each product in this set.
Before we get started, I think it's important to share my skin type. My skin is normal (more on the dehydrated side), extremely acne prone and cursed with tons of post inflammatory erythema, hyper pigmentation and textural acne scars.
The one product that drew me to this set, was the Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum, which retails at Sephora for a whopping $89 for 30ml of product. This price tag is super hefty (especially if you compare it to products by The Ordinary). I decided to buy the set since it was $89, the same price as the serum alone, and it included a full sized serum and two deluxe sample sizes.
Alright, I think you get the gist so let's get into the good stuff.
Vinoperfect Concentrated Brightening Essence (50ml)
CLAIMS: The essence claims to brighten your skin and make it look radiant. There are two stand-out ingredients in this product.
STAND-OUT INGREDIENTS:
1. Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Water: Caudalie claims this is a magical ingredient for adding moisture.
2. Glycolic Acid: This is one of my favourite AHAs, and it's great for chemically exfoliating the skin. This is pretty far down on the ingredient list, so I can't imagine it severely damaging your skin barrier with consistent use.
CONSISTENCY: This is very liquidy, I would compare it to the consistency of the Secret Key First Treatment Essence or any toner really. Absorbs quickly into the skin, no instant effect to the appearance of my face (which I wouldn't expect).
REVIEW: I regularly use this essence because it absorbs into my skin quickly, it's not irritating and (most importantly) it doesn't break me out. I love how it gently exfoliates my skin, and after consistent use my skin does look brighter but I use a lot of brightening products so I can't give all the credit to this (but it does help!)
Vinoperfect Radiance Serum
CLAIM: This serum claims to correct dark spots and prevent them from popping up, even out the skin-tone and make your skin radiant.
STAND-OUT INGREDIENTS:
1. Squalane: I love squalane oil. It's naturally found in the skin and amazing for hydration.
2.. Grapevine Shoot Extract: I actually have no idea what this does, it just sounds note-worthy.
3.. Fragrance: It smells really floral.
CONSISTENCY: It's a runny, watery consistency and the product is a milky, white colour. It spreads on the skin like a dream and absorbs super quick.
REVIEW: My skin looks a little plumped up after it soaks in which is awesome. I have PIE so I don't think this helped with fading my spots very much, but if you have PIH (brown spots) I think this would work a lot better. My overall skin tone appeared much brighter and alive. My mom tested this on her sun spots for 21 days and didn't noticed any drastic changes (maybe it wasn't a long enough time period or she wasn't consistent). I think this is awesome, but for 30ml the $89 price tag is a bit too much for my student budget.
Vinoperfect Overnight Renewal Cream (15ml)
CLAIM: This is supposed to minimize pores, help fade dark spots and blur imperfections. Sounds pretty great to me!
STAND-OUT INGREDIENTS:
1. Glycolic Acid: Awesome AHA - LOVE.
2. Squalane: I think I already said this but I love!!
3. Shea Butter Extract: great for hydration.
4. Fragrance: I don't find this actually smells like anything, but it does have fragrance.
5. Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil: contains phytochemicals and nutrients to nourish skin.
CONSISTENCY: It's a super thick, white cream. It seems like it would be difficult to apply but it spreads onto the skin pretty well and melts into the face rather quickly. Doesn't leave my skin feeling tacky after applying.
REVIEW: Something in this product makes me break out every time I apply it. I can't speak to any of the benefits of this because every time I tried to apply it, my skin got super angry. My mom likes this as a night cream though, but she said it's not hydrating enough for her dry skin.
OVERALL: I'm glad I gave this kit a try as my first high-end skincare purchase. With that said, I think I'll stick to my Kbeauty before making another pricey, Western skincare purchase. I just find Kbeauty products are generally more reasonably priced than Caudalie products.. I love the essence and serum, I just can't afford to purchase them on the regular right now (sad face).
