5 Essential Accessories For Every Outfit

As I entered into my twenties I realized something that has been revolutionary to my style; trends come and go, and you'll feel hopeless if you constantly try to keep up with them. It's crucial to invest in basic pieces that will anchor your outfits throughout the years.
Having a solid collection of basic pieces is vital to your wardrobe and the accessory department is no exception to this. You need pieces to rely on when trendy items like tassle earrings go out of style. For this reason, I've pulled out the basic accessories that I continuously wear on an everyday basis
1. Good Quality Sunglasses
Although cheap sunnies may look cute, they tend to offer minimal UV protection - which leads to squinting in the sunlight. I think it's important to invest in a pair of sunnies that actually protect your eyes from the sun.

2. Sterling Silver Earrings
I used to never wear earrings, but I've realized how simple earrings are subtle, but still add an extra touch to an outfit.
These sterling silver studs were a gift from my mom after her recent trip to Italy.The sterling silver prevents your ears from turning a funky, green colour (which seems to happen whenever I wear cheap earrings for a few days).
3. A Signature Fragrance
My favourite step when I'm getting ready is to apply a fragrance. There's something about scent that completely changes my mood and makes me feel so put together.
I'm obsessed with Light Blue from Dolce and Gabana, it's the perfect year round fragrance. I feel so fresh and clean when I wear this, and I have so many good memories attached to this scent, which makes it even better.
I definitely fall victim to purchasing tons of cheap body sprays, and the scent never lasts as long as perfume does, which is why it's definitely worth it to invest in a good perfume.
4. A Watch
For my birthday, E gave me this gorgeous rose gold watch from Fossil. My watch is hands down my favourite accessory I own - it elevates any outfit. I love the versatility of this watch and I can wear it with casual and dressy outfits.
The cool thing about this watch is that its a hybrid smartwatch, so it has the function of a smart watch but the look of a regular watch.
The watch connects to the Fossil Q app and through this, the watch can preform a variety of functions such as notifying you of phone calls or texts, tracking your steps, playing music on your phone, acting as a remote for your camera and even ringing your phone in case you misplace it.
I personally prefer classic watches over ones with a touch screen, I feel like they look more timeless but I love the smartwatch functions this particular watch offers.
5. An Everyday Bag
If there is one item on this list that you absolutely must have, it's an everyday bag. I personally love my Kate Spade purse because it's the perfect medium size and I can fit a light jacket in it if I want to but it's not big enough for me to hoard all my belongings in.
It's a necessity that my bags have a long strap, because I love having the ability to throw my bag on my shoulder and be hands free.
It's important to have a bag that is both functional and cute. I think it's a must to have a bag with a zipper at the top, because button closures just don't cut it for me. I find whenever I'm driving my purse will fall off the passenger seat, and without a zipper all the bag's contents will fall around my car.
All of these accessories are vital to my wardrobe and I wear each of them on a daily basis. Investing in accessories may seem daunting when there are so many cheap, trendy options available. In the long run, these items last for years and are staples that you'll wear everyday, making them worth every penny.
